It’s been a funny old few weeks. Life has not been exactly kind and there seems to have been a new “issue” cropping up with alarming regularity to throw a spanner in the works. Still I’ve cracked on with the business of preparing for Christmas, desperately trying not to let certain people and situations put a halt to festive cheer altogether.
Last Friday, Eleni starred in the first of her Christmas plays. She played Mary in the Pre-School Nativity play, chosen because (in the words of her key worker): “Eleni is 4 going on 40!”. Brilliant! She did a great job, remembered her two lines and sang her little heart out with a very proud Mummy, Nana and Grandad looking on. A few pictures of that posted for you to have a look at on the photos page.
Sunday night, after a trip down to Medway on Saturday for drinkies with Andy and Marina followed by lunch with Mum and Dad on Sunday, was spent putting up the Christmas tree and other decorations. To be honest the girls lost interest rather quickly (they’d already spent Saturday putting up decorations at Daddy’s house – note to self get in first next year!) but they had a blast jumping off the stool in the lounge and were very helpful when the base broke and the entire 6ft tree fell over! We got there in the end and it all looks rather festive.
Here’s hoping that stresses die down a bit over the next week and I can start to look forward to my first Christmas spent in my house, with the girls, my gorgeous man and parents. I’ll drink to that!
