Finally I can share the good news I received a little over a month ago but have had to sit on… I’ve got a new job!
Yep, having suffered through five long weeks of delays and paperwork headaches, I received final confirmation on Friday that I am soon to be a Principal Media Officer at the Environment Agency in Reading.
To look at my CV you would think I suffer from a severe case of itchy feet when it comes to my career. Since returning to work in 2006 after having Asri, I have had four jobs (soon to be five). Not bad in six years! Still I’ve managed to stay in this one for just shy of two years, so not too shoddy!
I worked at the Environment Agency back in 2009/10 but had to leave after 12 months as I was on a maternity cover contract. But the fools (I mean very sensible people) have decided to take me back. This is good news as it not only puts me firmly back on a career path but also keeps me local, meaning I can continue to juggle my work with my first job as a Mum.
My last day in the employ of Rob Wilson MP will be on July 20. I will be sad to leave in many ways, not least the great friends I have made here and the fact that a dull day rarely passes. But I won’t be too far away, so I can still pop past the office for some giggles (hope I don’t find the lights off and my “friends” hiding under their desks…)
So there you have it… yet another chapter in my life is about to start. It’s been all go these past couple of years! 🙂
